| Watering | Watering is the most complex part to manage, both the excess and the lack of water are in fact the most frequent causes of a failed cultivation. The azalea lives in soils with an acid pH, consequently it does not like calcareous water. The root system requires careful watering management. In spring and summer, the soil must remain moist, the slightest drying out could drastically compromise the health of the plant. In autumn and winter, the attention remains the same. The species does not fear low winter temperatures, but it is advisable to protect the plants in small pots from freezing. |
