Zeolite is a volcanic rock of the aluminosilicate family, minerals characterized by a very open crystalline structure and interconnected channels. Zeolite is used in approximately 10% in the preparation of soils for bonsai, as it has a high water absorption capacity (this allows to reduce watering up to 30-40%) and also improves the assimilation of fertilizers from part of the plants (limiting losses by percolation).
